Privacy & Cancellation Policy

Should you need to withdraw from a publicly enrolled course administered by our office, please notify us promptly. The cancellation fees outlined below are applicable from the date we receive your written cancellation notice, which can be sent via email.

Regular Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 60 days before the course start date are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made between 60 days and 14 days before the course start date will receive a 50% refund of course fees. If a replacement is found, only a $50 administrative fee will be retained.

No refunds will be provided for cancellations made 14 days or less before the course start date. If a replacement is found, only a $50 administrative fee will be retained.

Course cancelled by COA

If a course must be canceled due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., flood, pandemic), we offer placement in another session of the same course or a full credit for any other course. Please note, COA is not liable for expenses incurred by students in preparation for the canceled course.

For group courses / private courses:

When partnering with us for group training, we tailor the course to your specifications, including training goals, location options, dates, inclusions, and equipment needs. Upon agreement, we provide a detailed proposal with payment and cancellation terms for your review and discussion.

How to enroll for your course

To enroll in a course with COA, simply call (867) 334-9550 or book online through our system. If you have inquiries or need more information about a specific course, please reach out, and we’ll gladly assist you.

Payment

We accept payment via credit card, email transfer (within Canada), wire transfer, or cheque. Full tuition is due at the time of registration if not specified otherwise on your invoice.

Pricing, currency & taxes

All Canadian courses are priced in Canadian dollars, with applicable federal sales tax (GST) of 5%. Pricing may vary, and exchange rates are determined by your credit card company or bank at the time of transaction.

Course preparation

Upon registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email and an Info Pack containing essential details for course preparation, such as outlines, packing lists, directions, and schedules.

Accessibility & Safety

We prioritize accessibility and safety in our courses, accommodating diverse needs and ensuring a secure learning environment. Participants are required to acknowledge the authority of instructors and the inherent risks associated with outdoor activities.

Risk acknowledgement / Liability Release forms

Each student must read and complete a Liability Release and Indemnity Agreement before the course. Please inform us if you’d like to review the form beforehand.

Storage of personal information

We collect and store personal information necessary for course administration, with medical information deleted within two weeks after course completion unless requested otherwise.
